Vegan Chocolate Cake





Veganism means to boycott all the products that are extracted from animals, which includes honey and dairy products.

Many people are becoming more inclined towards veganism today, but that doesn't mean they have to compromise on their sweet cravings.

This cake is one such example, where the cocoa cake is super moist and the vegan frosting makes it taste rich and decadent.

Vegan Chocolate Cake

RECIPE

Serves: 6
Prep time: 10 minutes 
Bake time: 35 minutes 
Tools needed: Oven, Loaf pan, Wire whisk  sauce pan, parchment paper.

INGREDIENTS

For the Cake

All purpose flour 1-1/2 cup

Baking soda 1 tsp

Sugar 1 cup

Cocoa powder 1/4 cup

Water 1 cup

Vinegar 1 tablespoon

Vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon

Vegetable Oil 1/4 cup

For frosting

Corn flour 1 tablespoon

Water 1/2 cup
Icing sugar 1/2 cup

Cocoa powder 1/4 cup

Icing sugar 1/2 cup

For Garnish

Chopped pistachios, almonds, cashewnuts 2 tbsp each.


METHOD

Preheat oven at 180°C. Grease and line a baking loaf pan 4×8 inch size.

Keep a sauce pan on heat and mix together all wet ingredients for the cake, i.e. water, sugar, oil, vanilla extract and vinegar. 



Heat wet ingredients, until sugar dissolves. After sugar melts switch off flame. Let cool until slightly warm.

In a bowl whisk together flour, baking soda and cocoa powder.

Mix wet and dry ingredients.

Pour in prepared pan. 

Bake until skewer inserted comes out clean. Remove the cake from oven and let cool over wire rack.

Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder and icing sugar.

Add water mix into smooth paste and keep on flame to cook. 


You will see the liquid starts to thicken. Once done let cool. Frosting is ready.

Pour the frosting over the cake while it is still warm. Spread evenly.


Sprinkle dry fruits and refrigerate to set for some time or you may also serve immediately.

Your Vegan Decadent chocolate cake is ready to serve.
