Tricolor Sandwich




A perfect sandwich for a summer picnic. Each slice layered with different spread. One Smeared with Indian Pudina Chutney which plays the hero with all the tangy spicy flavor, one made rich by soiling in melted butter and the last but not the least, with tomato sauce to give it sweet and tarty sandwichy taste.

Serves: 2

Prep time: 2 minutes

Total time: 5-10 minutes

Tools: Mixer Grinder, microwave 

INGREDIENTS 

Brown bread slices 6

Butter 2 tbsp 

Tomato sauce 2 tbsp

Mint leaves 1/2 cup

Coriander leaves 1/2 cup

Salt 1/2 tsp

Garlic cloves 2 nos.

Green chillies 3

Lemon 1/2 nos.



METHOD

1. Take butter in a bowl and leave for 10 minutes on counter for it to soften or microwave for few seconds. 

2. Also take tomato sauce in a bowl and keep it ready. 

3. Chop green chillies, wash coriander and mint leaves in clean water, peel garlic skin. Cut lemon into half.

4. To make mint chutney, take a mixer jar and add green  chillies, garlic, mint leaves, coriander leaves, salt as per taste. Squeeze lemon juice and make a paste.



5. Add a tablespoon of water if needed to make a partially smooth paste. Mint spread/chutney is ready.

6. Take a bread slice and apply mint chutney on one side. Place the mint side facing upwards on a board.

7. Take another bread slice and apply butter to both the sides. Place it over the mint side of the first bread. 

8. Take the third bread slice and apply the tomato sauce. 

9. Place the final slice over the buttery slice. Ketchup side facing inside. Sandwich is done.

10. Repeat the same and make another sandwich.

11. Cut the sandwiches in 4, by sliting it diagonally using a sharp knife.

12. Pack it in cling wrap and store in refrigerator for later use or serve immediately with some leftover mint chutney/ tomato sauce.
