As I looked for basil all over the market, coz my regular vegetable grocer was out of them and I had to make this black olive pesto sandwich for breakfast, I couldn't find any,, tired of looking for it everywhere...I got my head scratching and plucked some fresh Indian basil (tulsi) from my own plant at home,,,, and walla!!! I had discovered a tastier version of my usual olive basil pesto recipe.
I think😀I will never look for basil anywhere else but I will use my own fresh Indian tulsi,,, It's a must try,,,, delish! Fresh and very healthy protein sandwich.
Indian Basil Sandwich
RECIPE
Serves: 2 people
Prep time: 5 minutes
Make time: 10 minutes
Tools: Mixer grinder
INGREDIENTS
For Indian Basil Pesto
2 tablespoons cashew nuts
8-10 black olives chopped
1 tablespoon pistachio
1/4 cup olive oil or any oil
1 tablespoons almond
1/4 cup Indian basil/ tulsi
to taste Salt
1 teaspoon black pepper, crushed
Other materials
4 wheat bread slices
1 tomato sliced
2-4 cheese slice
1 tablespoon butter
METHOD
Prepare pesto by grinding all ingredients mentioned, leaving olives. Make a semi smooth paste.
Add the chopped olives to the sauce and mix
Slice tomatoes and keep cheese slices ready.
Arrange the bread slices apply softened butter on one side of all the bread slices. Keep one or two cheese slice according to the size of the bread slice.
Slice tomatoes thinly and arrange over the cheese slice.

Spread the pesto sauce generously on top of the tomatoes
Cover the sandwich with a slice of buttered bread. Slice and serve.
